RECOGNITION OF FOREIGN EDUCATION (NOSTRIFICATION)
In case of applying for first-cycle or long-cycle Master studies certificate of recognition of a high school diploma, issued by the Education Superintendent, is required only in some cases.
Candidates from the EU, OECD or EFTA countries, as well as candidates from countries with which Poland has signed bilateral agreements concerning the recognition of education (at present: Belarus, China, Ukraine) are not obliged to submit this document. Also holders of IB or EB diplomas do not have to submit the certificate of recognition. Please check detailed information on the recognition of foreign diplomas available at that page.
In case of applying for second-cycle or PhD studies – if foreign higher education diploma entitles its holder to undertake higher level studies in a country which issued a diploma, then it also gives its holder access to university education at higher level in Poland.
If a diploma does not give access to further studies in a country where it was obtained, it should be “nostrified”, if its holder wants to continue education in Poland.
The competent authorities to conduct the nostrification procedure are higher education institutions holding scientific categories A +, A or B + in the discipline to which the application for “nostrification” applies.🔗
