How to apply

STEP 1: Register on-line at irk.uw.edu.pl >>>
  • Choose the appropriate section in the system of Internet Recruitment of Candidates (IRK)
  • Check qualification criteria for specific field of study
  • Create your individual registration account
  • Complete your personal details
  • Complete data concerning education
    • Polish Matura, IB and EB diploma holders enter all subjects and results of the written part of their maturity exams in the form. Additionally, IB and EB holders must attach scans of their diplomas/certificates containing IB/EB exam results at their registration accounts.
    • It is not possible for candidates with foreign high school/higher education diplomas to enter results in the form. Therefore, it is obligatory for them to attach scans of translated documents with high school/higher education results at individual registration accounts.
  • Attach other documents required at the stage of registration
  • Choose field(s) of studies (deadlines for registration for specific fields of study are available at the IRK system)
  • Pay the application fee [read more…]
  • Number and date of issue of high school/higher education diploma candidates may fill in after qualification process (before printing personal questionnaire from the IRK system).
  • Photo has to be accepted  before printing (from the IRK system) a personal questionnaire or statement about taking the exam or interview in the remote (online) form, if such a form of examination / interview is provided for in the given field of study.

Please note! University of Warsaw is not responsible for incorrectly filled-in data in the form, not filling-in or providing false information as well as not enclosing required documents by the candidate at individual registration account.

STEP 2: Participate in the qualification procedure >>>
  • Detailed information on qualification procedure for degree studies in English is available at the Internet Recruitment of Candidates.
  • If you take the exam or interview in the remote (online) form, be sure to upload a photo on your candidate’s registration account, and after its acceptance – fill in, print, sign and attach to your account the statement about taking the exam / interview [it is attached in the section Personal forms – education, in part Certificates and other documents required to study].
  • In case of any further questions, please contact appropriate unit conducting studies or the Admissions Office (by asking a question at the IRK system or directly).

STEP 3: Check qualification results >>>
  • Candidates receive the qualification results on their individual registration accounts in the system of Internet Recruitment of Candidates.
  • Candidates placed on reserve list wait for possible change of position on the list (updated list will be visible at the registration account, according to schedule).

Please note! Messages published at candidate’s individual registration account are considered as delivered and binding. University of Warsaw is not responsible for the effects of candidates’ failure to familiarize themselves with a content of messages available at individual registration account.

If the candidate is certain that obvious mistake, writing error or  imprecise information on the result has occured, he/she may also turn to the appropriate admissions committee within three days from the date of announcement of qualification results in order to correct his/her result or part of the result.

STEP 4: Submit required documents >>>
  • Candidates qualified for studies submit (send by post) their documents to the admissions committee in due date. Non-submission of required documents in due date is considered equal to candidate’s resignation from undertaking studies.
  • Deadlines for submission of required documents are available at IRK system under the specific field of study.
  • At the candidate’s registration account in section “Enrollment applications” under the chosen field of study accessible through the link “Documents and further steps”, following documents are available: personal questionnaire,  application for issuing electronic student’s id (ELS), statement on becoming acquainted with the amount of fees for educational services at the University of Warsaw. These documents should be printed out, signed by the candidate and submitted along with other required documents.

STEP 5: Receive decision on admission >>>
  • International candidates receive decisions on admission issued by the Rector.
